I moved into a brand new apartment building. If you never moved into one, the wiring cabinet in your apartment is typically a bunch a ethernet cables that stretch a mile long. I honestly didn’t know who GigStream was so I went with the familiar Optimum. Optimum came to do my installation. They charged me $100 bucks to have the tech spend literally less than 10 minutes in my apartment. I asked the tech if he could cut the additional wires and make my ethernet ports hot. I’m a tech person and like my devices hardwired when possible. The apartment had ethernet ports everywhere and I wanted to take advantage of that. The optimum tech said no, hire an electrician. I looked at him and said you’re joking, you’re the cable the guy! He said no again and left. I called optimum to complain and state my installer was pretty rude and didn’t do what I asked. Optimum stated they don’t cut wires or make ports active and it is my responsibility. I asked what did I pay $100 for to have the guy drop a modem and router in my apartment. They had no answer and basically sad sorry. Introducing GigStream, they had an event at my building and I was blown away how nice they were. Rawan and Roger were extremely helpful and showed me a demonstration of their technology. These speeds are fast and I mean insanely fast. I am getting just under a gig up and down speeds. I’m only paying $75 a month for this! Roger not only cut my extra cables but made sure my ethernet ports were hot as well. Oh and installation was free. I hope GigStream becomes more widely available because I’m going to miss this service when I move out of the building. Give them a shot, I promise you will not be disappointed.
